'people pay more attention to bad news than to good news'.

Sander van der Linden, a young psychology professor at Cambridge is building a very successful career (BBC, Guardian etc etc) on rediscovering this. He focuses on climate change, ecology, energy transition, Trump and the Russo / Ukrainian war. He effectively only ads the digital element i.e. social media and delivers it in a panicky sauce of foreign meddling, Russian or Chinese misinformation and 'use this framing to bolster climate policy support' advise.

A prime example of genteel pseudo shock at others' 'ignorance' and a lover of exclamation marks, he warns us of other people's incomplete understanding of the world and social media in particular. While at the same time, along with his young colleagues, he 'likes'the s*** out of each (other's) LinkedIn post(s), suggesting a rather contemporary, let's say, professional fervour, if not ambition, to be seen and heared.
