I must say longer form does not protect against all bad habits. On LinkedIn the most emotionally feeble and touchy members (and most humourless) patrol the comments. Their tolerance for dissent is a bit underwhelming. The slightest challenge can be too much for them and you find your comment deleted and yourself blocked.

Or you find yourself reported to LI by some anonymous user. I got a 2 day ban when i protested in a thread against the pov that soup throwing Extinction Rebellion activists were comparable to Martin luther King or for instance the sufragette mvement. Eventually LI gave me back my account, but anonymous reporting is rampant.

What i found over the years is that people whom i would locate to the right of me have much thicker skin than those on my left. Only in 'left wing' threads (climate, UA war, immigration, gender etc) i've been blocked, deleted or reported. And adding links to dcuments or studies on which you build your argument makes no difference. I share links via bitly which shows you if links are opened.

Progressives don't open documents in comments that challenge some of their povs. Period.
